Cinque Terre

The Cinque Terre region of Italy is full of natural beauty - so of course we spent the day hiking (despite the morning rain).  Wander through olive groves and lemon orchards and you know you're not in BC anymore!  The highlight of each evening is our Ligurian feast provided by Roberto of Ristorante Moresco.  I tried to get a picture of everyone there - if I missed anyone they were either hiding under the table or in the WC.

Rens and his many children.
Descent into Vernazza - the final stop on the LONG hike.
Vernazza from above.

Feral cat of the Cinque Terre.

Looking back to Monterosso.

Admiring the view.
Trevor, Mikayla, and Blake - the three ultra-marathon hikers of the students.

And the four dads who went with them.  Note that none of our own kids are with us!

Shoes of the Cinque Terre.

Sammy is goofy.

Sam looks elated over his gelato!
Sophie's favourite flavour:  plain.

Cashing in their extra scoop tickets.

Carmen and co.

Il Gigante springs from my head.

On the beach in Monterosso.

The corners are tight here - so there are mirrors to see what is coming.

Her arms were cold?

The troopers - all made it to the Punta Mesca high over Monterosso - in the rain.

Best mix of facial expressions ever.
Max and Chase's room in the hostel.

Fungi of the Cinque Terre.

We were cold.  Thank goodness for our boy scout skills.

Keep on keepin on.

The red and white lets you know you are on the path.

Look back in anger.  At Levanto.

Mikayla gets a shot of Levanto.

Only thousands of more steps to go!

Levanto continues to fade into the distance.
The kids wait hopelessly for their popcorn to pop.  No luck.

The clean up well!  Most of them.

Mo's got style.

Joti - huge Miley Cyrus fan I'm assuming.

Dinner at Moresco's - everyone as classy as they can be.

Formal ball caps.

There's gotta be a t-shirt under there somewhere.

The usually stoic Sam lets down his guard.

His eyes actually were bigger than his stomach.
High class all the way.

Only his finest white t shirt.

Roberto takes the girls' orders.  Emily, who told me my blog comments are "sassy", appears unimpressed with her order.

Cam can't take his eyes off of his food.
