La Serenissima

Venice: The most serene republic.  Except when we're there.  But seriously, Venice is the most unique city in the world - a city of water and stone, alleys and bridges, not a single car in sight.

The sun had just broken through making everyone happy!  Except Madi.

Beautiful Venice.

Grand Canal selfie.

I think James is shrinking.
Fierce.  That's awks.

Serious contemplation for Emily - cup or cone?

We got tickets for an extra scoop!!!

Joti's happy....

SO HAPPY!

A nice way for this guy to end his evening - 54 sales at once!

The mouth of truth.  Angry at your neighbour?  Just drop a note in here accusing him of treason.

The Golden Staircase - entering the Doge's Palace.

Prisoners of the Doge.

Madi sighs and takes a picture of Venice with her phone,  just like the medieval Venetians did when they crossed this bridge of sighs and entered the prisons.

Our group is huge, especially in the narrow alleys of Venice.

Everyone got to ride the gondolas this year!

I like the motto on the front of our gondola - "Live or exist... you have the key..."

What trip to Venice would be complete without a visit to Sephora?

Heading to the glass-blowing island of Murano.
Murano's little bell tower and big glass ....  uh.... thing.

I'm really enjoying having this kid on the trip.

Murano - beautiful!

Burano - colourful!  And a little cold.

Goofballs.

Not sure what the purpose of this was.

For Jude.

Sunset over the Venetian Lagoon.

H & M dummies.

Kas stands under the grotesque mascherone of Santa Maria Formosa to dispel evil spirits.
